The latest Styria Orgelfrühling Festival opened on 3 May 2019 in MUMUTH Graz with Der Grossinquisitor [The Grand Inquisitor]. The festival runs throughout the region for seven weeks and highlights the allure of this instrument rich in tradition. From its roots, through to the modern digital organ, in combination with drama and physical theatre, in solo recitals, chamber music and orchestral concerts, with premieres and debut performances, the organ connects a rich cultural heritage with new approaches to music and the instrument.
Members of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz enjoy free entry to many of the events.
